After the spurring success story of Hindi romantic fantasy drama film Atrangi Re (2021), Aanand L Rai and Akshay Kumar are all set to mark their comeback with Raksha Bandhan – a much-awaited Hindi family comedy-drama film that is slated to hit the silver screen on 11th August 2022.
While working for Atrangi Re, the duo of Akshay Kumar and Aanand L Rai never hesitated from sharing their awe and respect for each other. And that is exactly what motivated them to sign up for new iconic projects together, including Raksha Bandhan (2022) and Gorkha (release date yet to be announced) – the biopic of 1971 Indo-Pak war hero Major General Ian Cardozo.
Akshay Kumar recently took to his Instagram account to express his love for Aanand L Rai and talked about how he taught him to return to feelings. It was seen to be all smiles and gala for the duo, while they were spotted striking a pose in a fairy light setting.

Also earlier last month, celebrated director and producer, Aanand L Rai expressed his gratitude for Akshay Kumar while sharing a picture with him and mentioning that there is only one thing more precious than our time and that’s who we spend it on!

The duo, along with their team are seen to be on a promotional spree for Raksha Bandhan, visiting different cities across the country ahead of its release on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival.
As per the multi-city tour promotions of the highly anticipated movie and touring Dubai, Pune and Indore, the team of Raksha Bandhan; including Akshay Kumar, producer Aanand L Rai, and the cast including Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Sahejmeen Kaur and Deepika Khanna recently visited Hyderabad.
Interestingly, while Akshay was seen playing Ludo with his co-stars during his travel time to different cities.
While continuing his sweet gesture of gifting something special to his on-screen sisters from each city during movie promotions, Akshay took the sisters to a famous MG market in Hyderabad for pearl shopping and continued the tradition of gifting at the ‘City of Pearls’. Directed by Aanand L Rai and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma in association with Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani and Cape of Good Films, Raksha Bandhan is written by Himanshu Sharma
Kanika Dhillon. The music of Raksha Bandhan has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya and the lyrics are given by Irshad Kamil.
Raksha Bandhan featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar, Neeraj Sood, Seema Pahwa, Sadia Khateeb, Abhilash Thapliyal, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur is all set to release on 11th August 2022. After Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar and Aanand L Rai will be seen together for Gorkha directed by Sanjay Puran Singh which is based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army.
“Films are all about emotions. We are working on Gorkha, and we will keep working on it till the time it is perfect to go on floors. Raksha Bandhan happened so quickly, but then there are some films which take time because if the way in which we want to make them,” Aanand L Rai recently shared with a leading daily.
She has been there and done that. After graduating from Delhi University, she completed her diploma in Journalism from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Delhi. Down the line, she completed her internship with National Herald Newspaper successfully,, and went on to Join Mainline Business daily, Business Standard.
