LAKE PICHOLA HOTEL, UDAIPUR – A MUST-STAY

Staycation: Here is a review of my royal staycation at the Lake Pichola Hotel, situated on the banks of Lake Pichola, Udaipur
Udaipur, the city of lakes, with its heritage and history steeped in culture and folktales, has fascinated tourists for centuries. While I was a child, my parents took me to the city, and my most vivid memories of visiting Udaipur were the city’s architecture and food. I therefore seized the opportunity to book my plane ticket to the city right away. Afterwards it occurred to me that I should have visited this beautiful city way earlier. Definitely earlier than now.

Situated by the side of beautiful lake Pichola
Following extensive research online, I decided to stay at Lake Pichola, which offers a panoramic view of Lake Pichola and is located right on the banks. Walking through the narrow streets surrounding the hotel, we couldn’t help but be impressed by its facade. There is something so imposing and alluring about the hotel that it is impossible not to get swept up in its allure and architecture.
It is surrounded by beautiful boutique hotels and a shopping lane
It is impossible not to be enchanted once you step foot here. As you approach the hotel, there is a small lane that is flanked by a series of small shops including some beautiful boutique properties such as Uday Kothi, Ameth Haweli, souvenir shops and shops located on the street. In addition to that, there were also a number of small boutique shops selling souvenirs. It was a memorable experience to walk through the narrow bylanes of the city and see traditional Rajasthani bags, handicrafts, clutches, clothes, and so on.

The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere in addition to its magnificent heritage
Upon entering, the facade exuded a sense of serenity that drew our attention due to its imposing nature. From the moment we walked into the building, we were immediately captivated by its beauty. The mural created a sense of grandeur to the entire area as it provided a sense of historical significance. They adorned the walls with images of the Mewar emperors depicting their prowess and valor. The wall on which the fresco is located is adorned with a mural on the opposite wall that brings out the rich culture and creativity of Rajasthan thereby contributing to the unique appearance of the area.
A great way to enjoy the sunset here is from your hotel room
Located adjacent to the gallery, you will be able to see a panoramic view of the lake from its vantage point. In the evenings, it is a superb spot for an evening cocktail or cup of tea while watching the sunset over the lake. As you are snacking, it is a convenient place for you to take a few selfies and family photos as the sun sets over the lake. I was already feeling excited at this point, but I had no idea how to get started because I didn’t know where to begin.
When we checked into the lake view room, it was 5 pm and the sun had just set, so it was a good time to see the room since the sun had just set when we checked in. I was disappointed with the size of the room as it was much smaller than what I had expected.
There is no way you will want to miss the boat ride offered by the hotel
The staff at the hotel told me that the sunset boat ride would be a memory I will never be able to forget as soon as I arrived at the hotel. Having ordered my tea and snacks in the room, I did not waste any time to making a dash for the deck boat ride.
Even though it was a 45-minute ride there was something surreal, ethereal, romantic about it that I will remember forever. The Aravalli mountains were obscuring the sun on one side of it and I loved the mist behind the gleam of the sun. Sandhya Aarti could be heard from within the lake Pichola, on asking the staff where the chimes on the other side were coming from He told us the promoter’s house was within the hotel complex and that it came from there.
The city is transformed into another world with the reflection of coruscating lights after Crepuscule. To further enhance the romantic atmosphere, the Shiv Niwas palace adds majestic splendor.

On the rooftop of the hotel, UPRE serves local and diverse cuisine
We missed the booking deadline for the most coveted rooftop restaurant, UPRE’, that was overcrowded and we found it difficult to find a suitable spot to shoot for our video and take some pictures. We waited for a while before we found that spot. However, you must reserve your time beforehand in order to book a table at Upre, the rooftop restaurant at lake Pichoula Hotel. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation at a late hour.
So we chose a time slot. Rooftop restaurant Upre serves exquisite food that will delight your taste buds. You’ll be in awe of the location as well as the delicious meals available in the restaurant. Laal Maans , Ker Sengar, Gobind Gatta Curry are among the local delicacies. To begin with, there is Gatta Curry and various breads to choose from .
The meal concluded with Kesar Rabri as a dessert. A delightful meal, it was almost a perfect dining experience except for a few things and Flaws. Almost a flawless dining experience except for a few flaws. The meats were delicious, tender, and perfectly cooked. They whet our appetites and made us ravenous eaters. And without getting judgmental I switched over to Gobind gutta curry with Missi Roti and the combination was simply divine.
Rajasthan is well known for its sweets And the restaurant proved this by serving delicious desserts. Rabri was creamy with kesar and sweet cardamom flavor. As the day was winding down, we were already dog tired by the end of the day. But somehow, we did not feel fatigued. Leaving the Upre restaurant, I couldn’t help but be struck by the hospitality that I experienced there and the beauty of the heritage property.

All in all, it was an enjoyable experience that was worth repeating
The sun rose at the crack of dawn. The cool salubrious breeze passed through the window through gossamer curtains. We could see the splendor of the lake from our room window as we sipped our morning cup of tea the following day .
As we gazed at the lake, we were planning our visit to the city before heading for breakfast, which was a lavish feast at their coffee shop. Based on my experience at Upre Restaurant in Lake Pichola, I found the buffet to be a wide variety of choices, but I prefered to stick to my omelette, fruits, and brown bread as my preferred selection. It is worth mentioning, however, that the buffet included a wide variety of options ranging from poha to puri, breads to buns, paranthas to pancakes, and dosas to donuts. Taking my breakfast over a hot cup of cutting Chai while admiring the serene lake view from the coffee shop at Lake Pichola was one of the most enjoyable experience in Udaipur.
During my stay at the beautiful property, I had a whale of a time, and if time permitted, I would love to stay here again in the near future.
