Movie Review: OMG 2: A Movie That Entertains, Educates and Challanges Society’s Norms
After watching the trailer of OMG 2 MOVIE, I had stated that you can only determine the kind of product that is inside the box after unboxing it, and before that, you can only make a perception about the movie itself. As a result of its unconventional subject, the movie prospects were being viewed in a disrespectful way based on conjecture, akin to blasphemy. Many people were judging the movie based on their own assumptions and preconceived notions, without taking into account the potential for the film to be an entertaining and thought-provoking experience. This was an unfair representation of the movie, as the trailer could only provide viewers with a brief overview of the plot.
A Movie That Speaks the Truth
During the promotional campaign for the movie “OfMG 2,” the cast emphasized the importance of speaking the truth, which resonated even more after watching the film. In today’s society, saturated with internet content and web series often filled with violence and explicit content, movies like “OfMG 2” serve as a much-needed breath of fresh air. The movie not only entertains but also enlighten, shedding light on important issues that are often overlooked. However, it is disheartening to acknowledge the challenges faced by such thought-provoking movies.
The Changing Landscape
With the rise of web series, sex and violence that have found their way into the digital realm, children are vulnerable to accessing harmful content. And in such a scenario Children need to be taught accurate information about sex in order to be prepared for the realities of life. If they are not given the opportunity to learn about sex in a safe and age-appropriate way, they may end up using unreliable sources of information or be exposed to inappropriate content.Unfortunately, the content in the OMG 2 was deemed inappropriate for children and teens, Even though the movie had a positive message about sex education, the certification boards felt it was not suitable for young viewers.
Sequel Under Pressure to Live Up to First Movie’s Success
Secondly, because of the high expectations from the first movie, the cast and crew of the sequel have to work even harder to deliver a successful performance and make the sequel just as good as, if not better than, the first movie. This puts a lot of pressure on them to perform and create a movie that will live up to the standards of the first one. Something similar happened with OMG 2 and I believe that this movie is somehow no less than OMG ONE, in fact its far better.Every movie is different and you don’t compare sequel and watch it in Isolation.

The unconventional subject, direction of Amit Rai, and the PERFORMANCE of the cast of OMG 2 have all the ingredients needed to make this movie a success. The protagonist’s is a simple devotee of Shiva, his son, becomes a victim of bullying orchestrated by some of his classmates. Misled and Sexually Illiterate
The sexually illiterate boy becomes a victim of circumstances beyond his control. Without proper knowledge, he may engage in inappropriate behaviors or make uninformed decisions, unaware of the potential harm they may cause. In this sense, he becomes a pawn of the system’s failures.
Humiliation and Isolation
As the consequences of his actions unfold, the boy becomes the target of punishment by the very system that failed him. He is humiliated, shunned, and isolated by his peers, teachers, and even his own family. The weight of his mistakes and the judgment of society bear down heavily on his young shoulders.
Suspension from School
In an attempt to address the situation, the school administration suspends the boy. This punishment further exacerbates his feelings of shame and worthlessness. The society that was meant to protect and nurture him has instead turned its back on him.

Feeling abandoned and overwhelmed by the consequences of his actions, the sexually illiterate boy reaches a breaking point. In a desperate act to escape the pain, he contemplates suicide. This chilling reality highlights the tragic consequences of the socio-cultural system’s failure to provide proper sexual education and support to individuals like him.
Time to Speak the Truth
Pankaj Tripathi takes on the role of a father defending his son, as he puts the society on trial and places the blame on the education system for the lack of sex education. Through this thought-provoking storyline, the film highlights the pressing need for schools to provide comprehensive sex education to children.
