PlinkSport Field Plinking Championship 2024: A Celebration of Recreational Shooting
PlinkSport LLP successfully concluded the fourth season of the PlinkSport Field Plinking Championship 2024, held from November 14th to 17th at the CBR 4 Cricket Ground in Gurugram. The event marked a significant milestone in popularizing “plinking,” a recreational airgun target-shooting activity, as a competitive and spectator-friendly sport in India.
Participants from across the country gathered to compete and celebrate their shared passion for airgun shooting. The championship provided a safe, vibrant, and family-friendly environment, furthering PlinkSport LLP’s mission of fostering a community of hobby shooters. By bringing the championship to Northern India for the first time, after hosting previous seasons in Gujarat and Maharashtra, the organizers made the sport more accessible to enthusiasts in this region.
The tournament featured three main categories: pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifles, spring-powered airguns, and CO2 pistols and revolvers. Participants ranged from as young as 10 years old to over 60, showcasing the inclusivity of the sport. Beyond the competition, the event created a lively atmosphere where attendees could connect, learn, and engage with like-minded individuals.
Adding to the excitement, leading brands and manufacturers displayed a range of airguns and accessories. Aman Airgun India, a prominent airgun store based in Delhi, presented a variety of products, while Kiehberg/Syndicate Innovation International Ltd., a key importer, showcased their latest offerings to meet the needs of enthusiasts. Indian manufacturer Valourous Sports made a notable impression by unveiling their new made-in-India PCP model, Vertigo, which received considerable attention from attendees.
The championship also served as a platform for on-the-spot registrations, catering to the overwhelming enthusiasm of walk-in participants.
Ashwani Philip, a well-known figure in the shooting sports community, expressed his delight at the event’s location, saying, “Bringing this championship to Northern India is a fantastic move. It will undoubtedly boost recreational shooting as a family sport and encourage responsible airgun ownership.”
Harvinder Sethi, a representative of Kiehberg and a long-time supporter of the championship, highlighted the sport’s growing appeal: “It’s amazing to see the growing interest in recreational shooting. Each season, the community expands, and it’s exciting to be part of this journey.”
