India’s Story on the Global Stage: YRF’s Streaming Success

YRF Entertainment, the streaming production arm of Yash Raj Films, has delivered a hat trick of hits globally with The Romantics, The Railway Men, and now Maharaj. Talking about this monumental success, YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani says, “At YRF, we always aim to produce content that can represent our country, our people, our culture, our values, and ambitions in its full glory to a global audience. We invest a lot of time in handpicking and polishing our stories because we believe it is always the content that survives the test of time and can transcend borders and languages.”

YRF, with a rich legacy of over five decades, focuses on placing India at the heart of its storytelling strategies. Before launching their streaming slate, YRF observed global trends. Projects from South Korea, Japan, Israel, and Spain were gaining acclaim worldwide. Akshaye proudly notes, “We are happy our first series, The Railway Men, is now one of the most-loved content pieces globally, representing India in that esteemed list.” He adds, “We will aim for more successes with our forthcoming titles. We are restless storytellers, always trying to push the envelope with unique stories told in the most disruptive way.”

YRF’s partnership with Netflix has been instrumental in their global success. Akshaye says, “We have a partner like Netflix who trusted our vision and was committed to taking these titles to the world. We share this moment with Netflix for their unwavering support, teamwork, and commitment to brilliance in content.”
